We all bear scars, mine just happen to be more visible than most. I was afraid to love because I was afraid to be vulnerable and I knew my heart couldn't take the loss if he died, he is the one that made me forget that one day we will all die. But he's with me right now laying his head on my shoulder. So I think I'll be alright. Oh I haven't even introduced myself my name is Gwen, And the person whom I am referring to is Daniel. But alas this story all began a few years ago.

May,5,2014 my first day in Middle School. That was the day I met my lover although I didn't know it yet. I think it went something like this, I was walking down the hall a bit nervous as this is my first day of Middle School after all. Then I bumped into someone it was Gerald the school bully. I didn't know at the time who he was so I asked for directions. He looked at me weird and said "nice hair loser." That was the start of the best day of my life. Classes were pretty straightforward it wasn't until Lunch came around till I was encountered by Gerald again that time he said "Give me your Lunch Money, Nerd." I looked at him and said "nah, I'm good." Gerald glared at me and said "you just don't get it do you woman? I can beat your ass, Give me your lunch money or there will be hell to pay." That was when Daniel stepped in and said "Leave her alone Gerald." Gerald looked at Daniel and laughed. "What are you gonna do if I don't?" He asked. Daniel looked at Gerald and said "Well, I'll just tell your girl that you like picking on other woman, I'm sure she won't like that." Gerald backed off after that and said "alright, alright I'll leave her alone." I looked at Daniel and instantly fell in love. "AHHH he's so cute" I thought to myself. Daniel approached me and asked "are you ok?" To that I couldn't help it I hugged him. At that moment I didn't wanna let go of him. He didn't seem to mind at all that I wasn't letting go of him, instead he said "Hug me as long as you like, I understand how it feels to be bullied. I was once there before in fact. I still remember how it felt to me. I couldn't let go of my friend for hours, after I was bullied. It's ok to cry, It's best to let it all out so don't be afraid to do so. I won't judge." I looked up at Daniel for just a second buried my head in his chest and started balling while still embracing him.

In that moment, I felt safe. Then I heard Daniel say "My name is Daniel, By the way. What's your name?" I looked up tears in my eyes and said "m-my n-name i-is G-Gwen." Daniel smiled and said "well Gwen, here's my number I'll put it in your back pocket ok? Don't be afraid to call anytime you need me. I'll always make time for you." I dried my tears and said "thank you, so much." Then let go of him and headed to my next class.

As I was going to my next class, I noticed that Daniel was right behind me like he was trying to look out for me. I didn't mind it as I knew he meant well and he was probably doing that to assure nothing bad happens to me. I went over to my locker to get my stuff, As so did Daniel. During that time I noticed me and Daniel had the same locker! He must have talked to the Principal and convinced him to share lockers with me. Nevertheless I was so happy that we shared the same locker! Guess he really wants to make sure nothing happens to me! I smiled so big my teeth showed. Daniel was right behind me waiting for me to be done. In that moment I couldn't help it I swooped around and gave him a nice long kiss on the lips. He didn't seem to mind it at all. In fact after I was done he kissed me back on the lips and said "I knew you would love it!" I giggled and said "of course I would love it, I had a crush on you ever since you defended me at Lunch." Daniel didn't seem shocked or surprised at all almost like he knew that I did. He then said "Yeah, I had a feeling you did. As a matter a fact I did too." I looked at him shocked and said "wow, I didn't even notice!" Daniel smiled and said "well, I made sure of that, I wanted to wait for the perfect moment to tell you. So after I ate and everything, I talked to the Principal discussed what happened and he said "I understand your concerns, and why you want to do this. So for the safety of the student, I'll change your classes to be the same and let y'all share lockers." I did this to form this moment so we can finally tell each other how we feel." That's when I knew I found my soulmate. After he said that I looked at him and said "wow, you did all that for me. Must mean that you want me a lot." Daniel nodded and said "yeah, I did." I smiled and said "well, in that case take me away!" Daniel smiled and said "Say less."

And that's how I met my lover, My all and all, my will to live and my purpose.
